You send a telepathic message to the target. The target may then immediately send a similar message back to you. The target can recognise you as the message's sender. You can communicate words only, up to a short phrase.

When a Contact spell you cast allows you or another creature to send a message, they may accurately communicate any memory they can recall (in the same detail that they recall it). While the spell introduces no errors, there is no guarantee that the memory itself is accurate.

When you cast Telepathy, you may choose for it to require concentration, affecting all targets and you. Affected creatures may send messages to one another at will until the spell ends. Once the spell is cast, affected creatures remain linked regardless of their range from one another.

While concentrating on Telepathy, you may set up a temporary trace as an action. All affected creatures must be willing. The spell becomes traced on all affected creatures, without rendering them helpless. When traced in this manner, its cost is zero. Any affected creature may dismiss the trace at any time, dismissing it on all affected creatures.

You send a telepathic message to a supernatural entity for guidance. The entity may immediately send a message back in reply. It attempts to answer questions posed of it accurately, and has no ulterior motives, limited only by its knowledge and ability to communicate. The entity is intelligent and may make reasonable speculations based on any information it has. The being has knowledge of:

  • Visible objects and creatures within 20 m of you.
  • Well-known locations within 1 km of you (e.g. shops, houses of important people).
  • Geography within 10 km of you.

Contact Outsider

This spell puts you in contact with an Outsider. You must provide either the name of a specific Outsider to contact, or an Outsider nature, in which case this spell contacts a random creature of that nature. You and the target have a telepathic link while the spell lasts, allowing you to communicate at will. You and the target may communicate words only, up to a short phrase per turn.
