Alchemy

The art of potion making, and taking.

Create and utilise powerful potions. Understand drugs and their effects. Use magic that alters the human body.

Those skilled in Alchemy:

  • Create more powerful potions.
  • Get more use out of potions they take.
  • Understand medicinal plants and drugs.
  • Know about magic which alters the body.

See the Potions section of the guide to see a list of potions you can create, and for more information about how potion effects work.

1: Administer

Administer
Mundane ability
  • Speed: Action.
  • Range: Touch.
  • Target: Creature.

Choose a potion in your possession to administer to the affected creature. The creature gains the potion's effect. If the creature already has its maximum number of active potions, it loses one of its choice before gaining the new effect.

You can try to affect an unwilling creature with Alchemy vs. Endurance. The potion is still consumed even if you fail. If the potion you administer replaces an existing potion effect it loses the oldest effect instead of one of its choice.

3: Potion Engineering

Potion Engineering
Mundane ability
  • Speed: Ritual.

Create a potion from a potion formula you know (with a maximum level of your Alchemy). You learn two potion sets from the Potion Formulae list, and gain one extra potion set of your choice when you reach 5, 7, and 9 Alchemy.

5: Field Alchemist

Field Alchemist
Enhancement

You have two active potion slots. While at least two of your potion slots are filled, add 1 to all of your Hand skill rolls.

7: Red Work

Red Work
Mundane ability
  • Speed: Action.
  • Concentration

You cannot cast spells. Any numerals listed in the effects of potions affecting you are doubled. When this ends, lose one random active potion.

9: Golden Blood

Golden Blood
Enhancement

You have four active potion slots. When you rest, you may choose one active potion to keep.
